Sam Parisi graduated with a Bachelor of Arts/Law from the University of New South Wales in 2006. A lifelong lover of film, music, and books, he first became interested in intellectual property while navigating copyright questions related to his own creative projects.

Admitted as a solicitor in 2008, Sam began his legal career in the business affairs department of a film production company and completed his practical legal training at an entertainment law firm. He later moved into private practice, advising business owners and startups on protecting their brands and other commercial assets.

Recognising that many businesses lacked a clear understanding of trade mark and copyright ownership, he developed a niche advising clients on protect their brands in Australia and internationally. He has represented clients in intellectual property disputes before IP Australia and the Federal Court of Australia.

As a solicitor and registered Trade Marks Attorney, Sam founded Brandsmith & Co. in 2026 — a boutique brand advisory practice built around a simple question: Do You Really Own Your Brand?

He enjoys working with clients on creative projects and helping them turn their ideas into valuable assets.
